Hundreds of Republicans
Gather for Cheney Visit To Ocean County
Approximately 800 Republicans gathered in Lakewood to greet Vice
President Dick Cheney on Monday. The event raised nearly a half-million
dollars for the Bush-Cheney ‘04 campaign.
The Vice President highlighted the accomplishments of the Bush
Administration through its first three years.
“On issue after issue, from national security, to economic growth, to
improving our public schools, President Bush has led the way in making
progress for the American people,” Cheney said.
The Vice President also pointed out distinct contrasts between the
Republican White House and the liberal Senator from Massachusetts
running on the Democratic ticket.
“These are not times for leaders who shift with the political winds,
saying one thing one day and another the next,” said Cheney.
He noted the Massachusetts Senator’s 350 votes for higher taxes and
failure to support relief for military operations in Iraq.
In the end, Vice President Cheney thanked the crowd for the tremendous
support the Administration has received from the people of New Jersey.
“We ran hard here in 2000. We’re going to run hard again here this year.
And come November, we’re going to make New Jersey part of a nationwide
victory for President George W. Bush,” concluded Cheney.
