No Merry Christmas at Jackson School !

This past Holiday Season has seen a lot of controversy regarding the use of Season Greetings versus Merry Christmas in commerce and in public areas. There are a lot of people who believe that there are forces trying to force secularism and “take Christ out of Christmas”. To a certain degree I would agree with that premise. I had initially decided not to write on that topic since there already seems to be plenty of outcry on the subject although, at a family gathering I had learned of an incident which occurred in Jackson Twp. Which made my blood boil.
According to an employee of the Clayton High School in Jackson, a boy was punished with one days suspension for saying “Merry Christmas” on December 23. According to the story, school officials at that school have legislated to students and employees, that it was in violation of school rules to utter “Merry Christmas”. That the only acceptable holiday greeting would be “Happy Chris-Hanna-Kwanzaa”. I believe that this action is a clear violation of that boys freedom of speech and a violation of his Constitutional Second Amendment rights. If I were this boys parents, I would be very upset about the matter. I believe that if anyone deserves a suspension, it is the pin head who made that rule and enforced it.
